Every year, my photography students engage in an inspiration-based project. For the assignment, they select artists who work in photography and other visual arts and, instead of emulating their work, they create a list of descriptors related to the art as the basis for new images of their own. The injection of new ideas always takes them to exciting places in their work. I always do this project alongside my students and these are a selection of pieces I created over the last few years.
